Hugh Glazer, CPA is a CFO/COO experienced in building and leading finance and business operations teams in more than ten companies. He has 20+ years as an advisor to private companies improving business performance and mentoring CEOs & CFOs.
Glazer has held key finance and operations roles in several early stage and growth businesses including Baseline Development Group, Ingenta, Learning Technology Group, The New England Journal of Medicine and Macmillan New Media.
He has been recruited by the same CEO three times for key roles in three different organizations. In 5 companies he has worked with teams from previous companies.
As a member of the American Arbitration Association Roster of Neutrals, Glazer serves as a commercial arbitrator.
For 15 years he has served as Coach in the Babson College Coaching for Leadership & Teamwork Program. Glazer is a Director of the Babson College Alumni Association.
Hugh is Co-Chair of the Media Special Interest Group of The Financial Exectuives Networking Group.
Glazer's experience includes Publishing, Professional/Consulting Services, Internet
Services, Advertising, Architecture,Software Development, Wholesale Distribution and Business Services companies.
As Chief Financial Officer for US Operations, Glazer completed the coordination and
integration of three US acquisitions for Ingenta, a British document and Internet services
company.
Prior to Ingenta, he was the Chief Financial Officer for PubList, an Internet library reference
resource. Before PubList, Glazer was the Vice President of Finance and Administration for
The Learning Technology Group (LTG), an educational software development unit of Simon
& Schuster. Previously, he served as Vice President Finance and Operations at Macmillan
New Media where he led OEM sales. Glazer's experience also includes seven years as top
finance executive for the prestigious NEW ENGLAND JOURNAL OF MEDICINE growing
revenue by over 400%.
While building his own consulting practice Glazer had a three-year affiliation with advertising and public relations management-consulting firm Montbleau Associates. Projects with WJMA included agency management system reviews for five clients, three systems planning and implementation engagements as well as two concurrent “Acting CFO” assignments.
He has diverse skills and experience that include software sales channel management,
intellectual property licensing and construction project management. In 2003 he was appointed to the American Arbitration Association Rooster of Neutrals.
He has lectured at the college level and is an experienced trainer on business applications and operating procedures.
